The Mitis River Park is located in Sainte-Flavie at 900 route de la Mer (Route 132). The Park is 40 kilometers east of Rimouski and 55 kilometers west from Matane. The Park is located between the Maurice Lamontagne Institute (Fisheries and Oceans Canada) and Reford Gardens. View the map.

General questions

A visit of the Park will take between forty-five (45) minutes and an hour and a half (90 minutes).

Yes. All visitors pay an admission fee. The admission prices are:
Adults: $5
Seniors (65+)*: $4
Students*: $4
Free for children (13 and under)*
Adult season’s pass: $15
Family season's pass : $25
Rustic Camping: $15

No. Visitors are also invited to visit the exhibitions in the visitor centre. There is also a shop where books, plant and bird identification guides, food products and gifts are for sale.

The trails are 2.5 kilometres in length. The length of each trail is as follows:

  • The St. Lawrence River Trail (0.2 km)
  • The Mitis River Trail (0.06 km)
  • The Forest Trail (1.24 km)
  • The Pond Trail (0.34 km)
  • The Cliff Trail (0.21 km)
  • The Beach Walk (0.5 km)

People with physical disabilities have access to the Visitor Centre and its exhibitions. There is a wheelchair accessible bathroom. The Forest Trail from the Visitor Centre to the Observation Tower is accessible. The other trails are not wheelchair accessible.

Naturalists offer thematic guided tours that last approximately 1 hour, during the summer.

Yes. Visitors may picnic on the site, but there are no food services. Bottled water, juice and soft drinks are available for sale in the Visitor Centre.

Yes. Groups of 15 or more benefit from a group rate. Groups are encouraged to reserve their visit to the Park in advance. Guided tours and animated visits are available on request. Activities are also available for groups of children between the ages of 3 to 12.

Yes. Pets are allowed in the Park. However, they must be kept on a leash.
